HOW I FOUND MY AESTHETICS STYLE.
Lana (Svetlana) Roma
Premium Interior Designer
Hi there! I'm Svetlana Roma, and this isn't your typical introduction post.

I’m not a fan of reading boring autobiographies, so I'm going to tell you a completely different kind of story. But if you stick around until the end, you’ll see exactly how I achieved what I have today. This approach to exploring a biography will show you how anyone—famous or not—can achieve or has already achieved their success.

Instead of dull dates and milestones, I’m going to walk you through the most important and slightly quirky highlights of my life.
STEPPE AND SUNSHINE
I was born in Shymkent, South Kazakhstan, surrounded by the vast steppe landscape. We had endless open spaces, plenty of sunlight, and fresh air. That's why I value freedom, love minimalism, and prefer clean, uncluttered spaces.

GRANDFATHER
My grandfather worked in a factory all his life, but his true passion was art, something I discovered by chance.

When I was about six years old, I found a lot of rolled-up canvases in his garage. It turned out that he used to paint in his youth, and he was really good at it. I asked him to teach me how to paint too.
He was also always crafting something with his hands. When he passed away, I brought his reproduction of Kramskoy’s "Portrait of an Unknown Woman" and a chest of drawers he designed and made himself into my home.

My grandfather was the first to introduce me to the world of art and craftsmanship, and I inherited that talent from him. This discovery of his hidden paintings made me realize that I’m a great researcher.

That’s why I deeply value family stories and traditions. It's just a part of who I am—like a default setting.
I often get projects involving historical architecture, and I always strive to preserve all the old artifacts while blending in elements of modern design. You know how different generations coexist in a family? The same goes for interiors—when you mix them, you create harmony.
FOG
When I was a child, my family and I visited Kaliningrad, and for the first time, I saw fog rolling through the valleys. I was completely captivated and enchanted—it was like a fairytale to me! As a result, I unconsciously design almost all of my interiors in foggy tones. This has become my signature style. People find these colours alluring and hypnotic, and they often associate them with me.

THE SIMS

Even today, I can spend hours playing this game. Back in school, I used to stay up all night decorating homes and styling my characters. Needless to say, I always chose creative professions for them, and my Sims were always wealthy and successful =)). In a way, I was scripting my future life, and almost everything has come true!
MY MOM

I adore my mom, and the feeling is mutual. She never forbade me from doing anything and has always supported me in everything. This is how I developed a sense of freedom and the belief that I’m the most loved, smartest, and beautiful =))). Thanks to this support, I’ve never been afraid to take on projects of any complexity and always feel confident that I’ll complete them 100%. This has also helped me confidently communicate with very famous and influential people in the future. When it comes to communication, I’m a very self-assured person.

Although my mom and I have very different personalities, I’ve learned so much from her, and I’m still learning. Once, I started clashing with her, trying to teach and change her as if I were her mom. But then I quickly realized that the problem was with me, not with her.

That’s when I first delved into psychology, meditation, family constellations, and much more! I discovered what personal growth is all about. For me, psychology and self-discovery are just as essential as design and hedonism.

HARRY POTTER & BULGAKOV'S THE MASTER AND MARGARITA
I’ve always been obsessed with fairy tales and fantasy. I used to listen to fairy tales on vinyl records and often retold them to everyone, acting out the roles. By the way, I’ve been on stage since kindergarten.

These books elevate my imagination and belief in magic to extraordinary heights. I believe that as a designer, I’m also a kind of magician. Just yesterday, there was no interior, but then I envision one in my mind, and after a while, it materializes exactly as imagined.

Performing and storytelling have significantly developed my vocabulary, creativity, and public speaking skills. That’s why I find it easy to express my thoughts and ideas and speak in front of people and the camera.

ARMAN

He’s my husband. I always knew what kind of man should be by my side, and that’s exactly what I got. We’re both in the design field and have created a design studio together. We share similar interests: hedonism, cosmopolitanism, gourmet cuisine, interiors, aesthetics, travel, cars, gadgets, IT and investment, and Marvel by Disney movies.

I love that in his free time, he plays video games and chats with crypto investors, while I tell him about my social media, marketing, and insights.
TEACHING

Teaching has been a recurring theme throughout my life. Out of the blue, my school was rebranded as a pedagogical gymnasium, and I found myself doing a teaching internship at a city summer camp for kids. I spent the whole summer running a creative workshop for them, teaching drama, reading poetry, putting on plays, sewing, and doing all sorts of crafts.

I even ended up getting a diploma as a primary school teacher.

Throughout my life, people have consistently asked me for advice on whatever topics I’m currently exploring, and it’s always come naturally to me to share my knowledge, explain things, and guide others in their development.

I constantly find myself in the role of a teacher. Naturally, I became a mentor in premium personal brand promotion, as I’ve spent nine years studying these strategies and tools firsthand. And, of course, I started teaching interior design as well.
ELITE AND CULTURED SOCIETY

My first interior design clients were one of the most elite and important families in our city. Thanks to them and the positive relationship we built, my husband and I learned at just 20 years old how to communicate properly with such people, how to conduct ourselves, and how to integrate into their social circle. As a result, it became very easy for us to connect with people from all walks of life.
PARIS
Our second trip abroad was to Paris. We spent all our savings on that trip. BUT! It paid off many times over. Paris showed us what luxurious living really is—design aesthetics, fine dining, the right wine, oysters, restaurants, exhibitions, impeccably dressed people, style, and the joy of beauty in all its forms.

Paris became the foundation of my good taste, and it was here that I realized how much I love this stylish and luxurious lifestyle. It was in Paris that my hedonism was solidified, and I began to refine my eye for beauty, which immediately increased the value of my interiors.

By the way, Paris is also where my journey as a blogger and my professional development on Instagram began.
THE INTERNET
The internet gives me access to unlimited knowledge, people, and opportunities. I’m extremely curious, and I love exploring and learning. Unfortunately, I attended a very mediocre and visually unappealing school and university.

Because of this, I still have a thirst for high-quality, beautiful knowledge. I still love movies where the plot revolves around beautiful educational institutions.
The internet gives me access to projects all over the world. Thanks to the internet, I’m able to create fantastic projects remotely, online.

The internet propels my brand forward. My name is becoming known thanks to online tools, and I LOVE IT!
I think I’ll wrap up with the INTERNET section, even though there are many more points I could mention.

In this post, I’ve focused on the ones that have had the most powerful impact on my development.
Now, if you combine all these points,
you get the code of my individuality,
aesthetics, talents, and personality.
LANA ROMA
I learned about this method not too long ago. I’ve been intuitively using a similar method to create projects for my clients. I called it personality psychology in interior design. But one day, I got curious about what makes me who I am and how this process works.

In the end, I refined this method into a way to unlock the code of a person’s identity for creating interiors and a stylish way of life. The results have been powerful and surprising.

Here’s the thing: everyone has such a code, but not everyone knows it, let alone uses it correctly. Yet, having this knowledge makes it so much easier to understand yourself and your path to success.

It’s like a manual we’re somehow not given at birth ;)
By the way, I used the same approach to explore the interiors and personal brand of Michael Kors.
