ELEGANT APARTMENT WITH COLOuRFUL DETAILS

PROJECT HISTORY
  • The brief was to design a flat for a family of four. The client chose a modern classic style—strict and elegant, but with a few bold accent details like the kitchen chairs and cushions in the living room.

  • She wanted an open-plan kitchen and living room. The kitchen needed to be spacious and practical without interfering with the living area. It also had to accommodate a large dining table for family meals and plenty of counter space, as she loves to cook. In the living room, we had to fit a large sofa, a TV, an armchair, and a bio-fireplace.

  • We needed to create a very spacious wardrobe in the hallway, which we placed along the long wall. The wardrobe doors are designed to blend seamlessly with the wall’s moulding, making the wardrobe nearly invisible. Since the hallway is relatively narrow, we decided to add plenty of mirrors to visually expand the space.

  • In the master bedroom, the client requested a separate walk-in closet. We managed to incorporate one—compact yet roomy, with a glass door to let in natural light.

  • For the daughter’s room, the brief was to include a large wardrobe and a home office space, all in a sweet, feminine style. The client also wanted an interesting pattern or print in the room, so we chose feature wallpaper behind the bed. To keep the room cohesive with the rest of the flat, we added moulding panels to the walls.

  • The son’s room, however, was designed in a more masculine and rugged style, with exposed brick, a small library, a home office, and, of course, a wardrobe. We opted for a sofa bed to maximize space.

  • The main bathroom was to be unique yet classic. We chose an unusual built-in bathtub that’s integrated into a large countertop with the sinks—a sleek, continuous white surface. We selected tall sinks to match the non-standard countertop height, which also makes cleaning easier as there’s only one flat surface to wipe down. The client also wanted a washer and dryer in the bathroom, so we tucked them into a cabinet to the left of the toilet.

  • In the smaller bathroom, we managed to fit a compact shower, toilet, and sink.

  • The floor plan after the renovation reveals a compact entryway as you step into the flat. On the left, there are two small wardrobes and a bench, while on the right, you’ll find a shoe cabinet.

  • In the main hallway, we’ve placed a spacious wardrobe. To the right are doors leading to the guest toilet and the master bedroom, while straight ahead is the open-plan living room and kitchen.

  • The guest toilet is equipped with a compact shower, toilet, and sink. In the master bedroom, aside from the bed and a small console, we managed to include a separate walk-in closet.

  • The living room has been combined with the kitchen and dining area, creating an open and inviting space. Further down the hallway, you'll find the doors to the children's bedrooms and the master bathroom.

  • The master bathroom features a unique countertop that integrates both the bathtub and sinks. There’s also a cabinet next to the toilet, housing the washing machine and dryer.

  • The daughter’s room is designed in ivory and soft pink tones, featuring a spacious wardrobe and a small home office.

  • The son’s room stands out with its distinct loft-inspired style, complete with rugged details like exposed brick, a leather desk, and metal and wood bookshelves.
