I never would have imagined that this person could surprise me so much...

He was one of our regular clients. We’d already designed two apartments and a house for him in Kazakhstan. He's a sophisticated guy, middle-aged, an entrepreneur and a true hedonist.

We loved working on his projects because he was so focused on his own life and work that he didn’t micromanage us at all.

"Everyone should be an expert in their own field. You're the expert in design, I’m the expert in business," he said to me during our first meeting. "I just care about loving the 3D visualizations, the price, and the execution. Everything else is up to you, Svetlana."

By now, we've already completed our third design project together.
Every time we presented a design, his reaction was the same: "It’s perfect! Now, tell me how much it’s going to cost and why?" At first, I was a bit taken aback by this question, but I soon realized that for him, understanding the balance between price, quality, and value in interior design is crucial.
By now, we've already completed our third design project together. Every time we presented a design, his reaction was the same: "It’s perfect! Now, tell me how much it’s going to cost and why?"

At first, I was a bit taken aback by this question, but I soon realized that for him, understanding the balance between price, quality, and value in interior design is crucial.
"That's why I respect you, Svetlana," he said to me in one of our meetings, "You’re able to explain everything so clearly and concisely. It gives me confidence, and I feel at ease about the results."
Then recently, I got a message from him on Telegram:

"Hi Svetlana! I just bought a small house and vineyard in California, where they make my favorite Chardonnay. It’s been a dream of mine for a long time. Do you have time for my project? I want the interior to be ultra-modern, with a Chardonnay vibe that harmonizes with the stunning landscapes outside."

So, we went ahead and created a concept for the public spaces of his villa. We divided the large living room into two levels. On the higher level, we placed a super tall library (about five meters high) from MODULNOVA and a cozy fireplace area with sofas. From there, you get a breathtaking view of the vineyards.
On the lower level, we arranged a sofa and oversized armchairs, perfect for relaxed conversations with guests over a glass of wine.
The staircase leading to the second floor is visually concealed behind concrete railings. By the way, all the materials in the interior are natural and match the golden-beige hue of Chardonnay.

For instance, these railings were made using the terrazzo technique—a centuries-old method where a mixture is inlaid with tiny marble chips. Once polished, the marble fragments become visible on the surface, much like the floors in Venetian palazzos and churches from the Middle Ages.
The kitchen and dining area are also enormous. Right behind the dining table, we installed roughly-hewn travertine slabs on the wall. It looks incredibly striking!

The kitchen, also from MODULNOVA, is truly unique, with an island made of travertine. Most of the kitchen appliances and cabinets are hidden behind tall wooden panels, giving the space a futuristic and minimalist vibe.
