The goal was to combine two apartments into one functional space for a young family, making it as spacious as possible, with a large kitchen-dining area that can be either open or closed off from the living room. The interior was designed in a modern classic style, with a focus on neutral tones and avoiding bright colours.
The plan also included creating a large master bedroom suite with a connected walk-in wardrobe, and a delicate, light-colored children’s room for two young girls.
Additionally, we designed two bathrooms: a light and airy one with a shower for the children or guests, and a more luxurious master bathroom featuring natural stone, a freestanding bathtub, and hidden storage within the cabinetry.
How we brought these ideas to life can be seen in the Architectural layout below.

Architectural layout of two apartments "BEFORE" redesigned.
Architectural layout of the combined apartment "AFTER" redesigned.
After combining the two flats and redesigning the layout, we kept the main entrance on the right side. The original door from the left flat was sealed up, and we turned that space into an en-suite master bathroom. To the left of the new main entrance, there’s a small wardrobe, followed by the door to the guest bathroom. Straight ahead, you’ll find the living room, with the kitchen entrance slightly to the right. If you turn right down the corridor, you’ll enter the private part of the flat, which includes the children’s room, the master bedroom, and the master bathroom.
The kitchen is divided into two sections: the cooking area and the dining area, which are separated by a semi-bar table with stools on one side and functional drawers on the other.
The living room is separated from the kitchen by sliding doors that can be recessed into the walls, creating one large open space when needed. From the living room, you can access the formal dining room designed for entertaining guests.
The master suite includes the bedroom and a walk-in wardrobe, which is tucked away behind a partition near the bed.
The children’s room is designed for two girls, featuring soft tones and unique artistic wallpaper. We also added a couple of seasonal wardrobes, a cozy window bench, and two small desks.
The master bathroom is designed in dark, calming tones with unique porcelain stoneware on the floor and part of the walls. The highlight is the striking natural stone and the freestanding beige bathtub.
The guest bathroom, on the other hand, is created in light tones, with a shower framed in ribbed glass to create an interesting light diffusion effect.
